My name is Ken MacArtney. I was a 1955 graduate of Colegio Americano in Caracas, Venezuela, along with my wife, Sondra Schultze MacArtney. Although a couple of years ahead of you, I remember you, and of course your sister Madge. We fondly remember stopping over at your house almost every day on our way home from school and passing time dancing and whiling the hours away. I'm sure your mother would have preferred that another house be our "headquarters", but yours was very convenient.
Like you, we signed up with the classmates .com website in the hopes of locating some familiar names. We completely lost touch with our entire class not long after we came to the States and subsequently got married. We live in York, PA, have four grown children scattered about, and five grandchildren so far.
My whole career, here in the U.S., has been in the retail department store business. I left that business 3 years ago, and started up my own Manufacturer's Representative business. I travel throughout Central and South America selling for various American furniture manufacturers, and also do some consulting work. My work has taken me back to Caracas several times. It has changed dramatically. All for the worse.
